Discover hidden luxury in northern England
Recently, we realised that we got caught up searching the far corners of the world for places to relax and unwind. As a result, we let the jewels on our very doorstep go by the wayside. Now, we are determined to rectify the situation. And to do that, we’ve chosen one of our very favourite destination and a luxury property tucked away there.
Without further delay, we’ll let you feast your your senses on the idyllic Gilpin Hotel and Lake House. It’s nestled among the breath-taking scenery of the Lake District and abounding with plenty of stylish and luxurious amenities. You’ll be more than happy to immerse yourself in the serenity of your surroundings.
As is usually the case, there is a passionate team behind any beautiful property. Gilpin Hotel and Lake House is no exception. It’s a family run business and has been for many years.
With this in mind, let us show you around this beautiful property. With a number of room options to choose from, it’s actually the new Gilpin cedar lodges that have captured our hearts.
Undoubtedly, they are the definition of perfect privacy and luxury. For one thing, each of the five lodges has its own ensuite spa. Yes, ensuite spa! Then you will be treated to features like a treatment area, steam room, rain shower among others. And of course, we’ve saved our favourite for last – outdoor sauna and hydrotherapy hot tub. Now close your eyes and imagine the views!
Of course, the rest of Gilpin Hotel is extraordinary. The Georgian house was built in 1901 and maintained to perfection. Three generations of the Cunliffe family have owned and operated the hotel with a team dedicated staff. You are guaranteed to get an incredibly relaxing stay with a team to see to your every need. After all, life at Gilpin is all about kicking back and relaxing.
Now, let’s take a look at the other part of the property – The House. The six-bedroom property is just down the road from the main hotel. Not only is it perched on the edge of a private lake, but it is set within 100 acres of pristine woodlands. With its own Jetty Spa, for exclusive use for guests staying at the Lake House, this is a perfect place to unwind and relax.
Ultimately, no matter how perfect as this hotel is, a huge appeal of Gilpin lies in its location. Not only is it set in one of the most celebrated regions in the country, but it is close enough that we Southerners can pop up on weekend jaunt out of the Big Smoke.
